Regent Seven Seas Explorer – Our thoughts!

The claim from Regent Seven Seas is that their brand new ships Seven Seas Explorer is the most luxurious all-inclusive cruise ship at sea. I was therefore delighted to be invited to see for myself if this was in fact true.

This brand new ship which proudly boasts all balcony suites, taking 750 passengers and weighing in at 50,000 tonnes you can straight away understand that these cabins are much bigger than your average cruise ship. The smallest cabin on board is 219 square feet with a balcony of 88sft and the largest Suite, the Regent Suite is a mere 3,026 ft2 and the balcony: 1,417 ft2.

So what did I think

Well I loved it. Totally beautiful throughout. The attention to detail in the art work, the ornaments, the soft furnishings and the furniture was sumptuous and quite delightful to the eye. Providing a luxurious feel every step of the way.

I love the choice of fine dining and would struggle to choose which restaurant first. The Asian (Pacific Rim), French (Chartreuse), Italian (Sette Mari at La Veranda), Prime 7, Each designed with a very distinct theme and all stunningly beautiful. What is very special about Regent is that everything is included. So you can sample it all! It is also apparent that drinks are in abundance with all the premium and exclusive drinks being available to you. For those of you whom love to cook, and are always eager to learn more you will enjoy the Culinary Arts Kitchen. Here you have the opportunity to learn many new culinary skills with fabulous facilities and chefs on hand to help.

The pool area was beautifully thought out. The comfort of the recliners and the large round day beds looked so inviting and had a feeling of space. A great addition, to allow a little privacy, some beautiful light curtains between a few sun beds is a nice touch

The theatre is created with timeless elegance and gave a feel of being suitable for lords and ladies of times gone past. Once again designed to create a decadent and comfortable feel.

The staff on board were always courteous and always well presented in their uniforms.

Our meal on board was simply scrumptious. Lobster and melon balls, followed by coconut-butternut squash and toasted corn kernels soup, Chilean Sea Bass, Black Angus beef tenderloin, Chocolate cheesecake, this menu gave us a great insight into what the food would be like on board. And I can confirm it was all mouth wateringly delicious. The fine wines served with dinner were also very enjoyable. An interesting fact on Regent is: in the Flagship restaurant on board (main restaurant ) alongside the normal nights menu choices there is a whole section were you can where you can design your own menu for the evening…. Choose your fish, meat, sauces & sides…. A great idea and one that really allows your individual needs to be considered.

My overall summary is, this is the perfect ship on what to take a trip to any part of the world and be assured of elegance, charm, attention to detail, absolutely all aspects of your comfort and enjoyment has been considered. The quality of the shore excursions included in the price give you an example of how much detail is considered of this important part of each cruise to.

Many think that an all- inclusive cruise is expensive, I beg to differ, as if you take into account all the costs that are included in an average cruise once you are on board, then Regent really does prove to be EXCEPTIONAL value for money and to the highest standards throughout. Whether it be the selection of the drinks on offer, or the sublime comfort of your bed, the make up of the sun beds, the generous size of cabin, the diverse menus choices, the standard of facilities on board, the quality of the lecturers on board or the enjoyment of the well thought out shore excursions, you can be sure all will be of a high class and delivery.
