Egypt

Back in 2019, I had the amazing opportunity to visit the gorgeous city of Hurghada, and trust me… its not something you would want to miss out on!

Hurghada is located along Egypt’s red sea coast. It is a beach resort town that is mostly known for its crystal-clear blue waters that are perfect for scuba diving. It’s an extremely tourist attracting vibrant coast line filled with lots of diverse cafes, restaurants and bars.

If you are a diver or even just someone who wants a nice sunny break like me, I would definitely add Hurghada to your bucket list. You really don’t want to miss out on the enchanting sights of the flamboyant creatures that swim around you, it honestly feels like a whole new world! This is the perfect place if you’re looking to dive your way into a healthy, breathtaking marine ecosystem. The Red Sea is one of the very few places that has remained looking new and untouched.

When I first visited Hurghada, I wasn’t too sure if I would like it or not due to the fact that I prefer a more chilled out, quiet holiday over family filled holidays. However, when I arrived, I instantly fell in love with my surroundings. The sight of the palm trees blowing in the breeze as soon as you step out of the airport will make you never want to turn back, the tropical atmosphere, just everything. The best thing about Hurghada is that due to it being a family beach resort town, the locals are so friendly as they are familiar with different tourists from all over the world to check out the amazing place, they call home!

Hurghada is most definitely the best place in Egypt for you if you are coming with family and especially children. There is so much to do and see, and don’t get me started on the amount of excursion choices, my personal favorite was when I had the amazing opportunity to swim with dolphins and then had the chance to go off and explore the glowing reefs below. There are so many to choose from such as jet ski rides, hot air balloons, camel riding, submarine trips and many more!

Apart from its crystal-clear waters, the coastal city is also studied for its heritage and culture. The main language is Arabic; however, you are not to worry as the locals will mostly know the basics of the English language enough to offer directions or recommendations!

Top Tips:

  • Make sure to choose the right hotel for you, and even the right place in Egypt for you if not Hurghada, we can help find the perfect fit!
  • Street phones are an affordable way to make long distance calls, they are activated by plastic cards that you can buy from any local shop!
  • Don’t forget! Charging plugs…they are standard European-style sockets in all local hotels.
  • Shops and restaurants accept US dollars and Euros.
  • I would recommend using cash in restaurants just to avoid any transactions fees.
  • Dolphin swimming excursions are a must when you visit Hurghada! I do regret not going on more excursions however I will definitely be going back!
  • I stayed in the Desert Rose Resort and I do highly recommend! There are at least 6 restaurants inside the hotel. It even its own lagoon that was crystal clear!
  • You are not to worry about finding places to eat out as there are many different restaurants dotted all over the city.
